Watzlawick bringt mit dieser Aussage zum Ausdruck, menschliche Individuen kommunizieren nicht lediglich verbal, sondern auch nonverbal. Dies ist schwer durch wissenschaftlich fundierte, theoretische Befunde nachweisbar. Allerdings wird wahrscheinlich jede Person aufgrund des Zusammentreffens mit anderen Personen diesen Sachverhalt best?tigen. Ebenfalls aufgrund ihrer Erfahrungen werden nahezu alle Personen zustimmen, ein Mensch unterliege hinsichtlich seiner F?higkeit der Aufnahme und Verarbeitung von Informationen Restriktionen und versuche, zumindest nicht ausnahmslos seinen Eigennutz zu maximieren. Daher ist die Tatsache zu betonen, die konventionellen (standardtheoretischen) Ans?tze des Rechnungswesens haben die Annahmen der vollst?ndigen Rationalit?t (perfekte Informationsverarbeitung) und die strenge Orientierung an der Maximierung des Eigennutzes zum Inhalt. Somit wird bei den standardtheoretischen Ans?tzen bez?glich der Annahmen des menschlichen Verhaltens das Konstrukt 'Homo Oeconomicus' vorausgesetzt. Die Alternative zu diesen Ans?tzen ist das Behavioural Accounting. Dieses ist ein verhaltenswissenschaftlicher Ansatz, in dem der Bezug zu den Menschen prim?r mit psychologischen und soziologischen Ans?tzen hergestellt wird. Bei dem Behavioural Accounting wird der Einfluss des Rechnungswesens auf das Verhalten der Menschen und deren Entscheidungsprozesse untersucht. In das Behavioural Accounting sind sowohl das externe als auch das interne Rechnungswesen einbezogen. Daher ist das sogenannte verhaltensorientierte Controlling (verhaltenswissenschaftlicher Ansatz des Controlling) dem Behavioural Accounting als Bestandteil hinzu zu z?hlen. Seit dem Anfang der 1960-er Jahre nimmt das Behavioural Accounting in den Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika einen hohen Stellenwert ein und in den L?ndern des anglo-amerikanischen Sprachraums ist dieses Forschungsgebiet etabliert. Aufgrund der im vorherigen Absatz aufgezeigten wissenschaftlichen Akzeptanz dieses Ansatzes und dessen hervorgehobener Ausgestaltung gegen?ber den standardtheoretischen Ans?tzen besteht der Sinn der vorliegenden Untersuchung darin, prim?r den Stand der Entwicklung des Behavioural Accounting aufzuzeigen.
